If you want to support an educational organization that advances Ayn Rand’s philosophy, you have a powerful new alternative: Objective Standard Institute (OSI)—which is related to but distinct from TOS.

OSI is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to teaching the rising generation about the importance of philosophy, the principles of Objectivism, and related ideas for loving life and supporting liberty.

I’m director of education at OSI, and I’m writing to ask for your support in our first fundraising drive. (Click here to donate now.)

Since launching our courses in June, OSI’s instructors have taught seven courses (some with multiple cohorts) to 129 unique students. These courses include “Ayn Rand’s Place in the History of Philosophy,” “The Elements of Thinking in Principles,” “How to Write Powerfully in Defense of Liberty,” and “Your Supersystem for Flourishing” (which integrates principles of Objectivism with those of powerful self-development systems).

Several new courses will begin in January and February, including “Introduction to Ayn Rand’s Philosophy for Loving Life,” “The History and Philosophy of Liberty in America,” “Henry Hazlitt Meets Ayn Rand: Economics and Objectivism,” and “Philosophic Entrepreneurship: How to Profit in Business and Life.”

What do students say about OSI’s courses so far? Here’s an indication:

“The idea of integrating Ayn Rand with self-development is brilliant. You’ve changed the whole playing field.”

“I wasn’t sure what to expect . . . I was mind-blown.”

“This course is a goldmine.”

“You gave us more than I ever expected!”

“I walked away smarter.”

“I never thought that a month later I'd end up with a published article!”

That last comment points to a tangible measurement of the effectiveness of OSI’s courses. Six students who participated in “How to Write Powerfully in Defense of Liberty” published their first articles in The Objective Standard within a few weeks of completing the course. More such articles are in TOS’s pipeline.

In addition to teaching powerful courses, OSI creates philosophy conferences (TOS-Cons), produces three podcasts (“The Hero Show,” “Philosophy for Flourishing,” and “Culture and Causation”), and publishes a blog (Level Up) and a weekly newsletter (The Future Today).

OSI has done a lot in its mere six months of existence. And we’re just getting started. Moving forward, we plan to expand our offerings, improve in all that we do, and teach many thousands of young people how to think better, live better, and defend freedom on solid ground.

But to do so, we need your help.

OSI aims to raise $500,000 by the end of December. Will you help us reach this goal?

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have about the Institute or its plans. Email me here if you’d like to chat, and we’ll schedule a call at your convenience.

As Ayn Rand said, “Anyone who fights for the future, lives in it today.”

Let’s live in it together. Donate now.

Sincerely,
Craig Biddle
